2.1 Introduction

This section explains how to create your own application within the Retailys ecosystem. We will outline the necessary steps - from preparing a manifest (an XML file) to registering the application so it becomes a fully integrated part of the Retailys system.

In addition to the essential <apps:section>, we also look at the optional <datanest:section> for defining entities (tables) and fields if you plan to use Datanest for data storage. Finally, we provide a comprehensive sample manifest for a “PIM (Product Information Management)” application to serve as a reference.
